COVINGTON, Ky. - Jeremy Garey, 44, of Burlington, Kentucky, has been indicted on federal charges of Production and Distribution of Child Pornography.
The indictment alleges that, over the course of several months during 2017, Garey knowingly employed, used, persuaded, induced, enticed, and coerced a minor to engage in sexually explicit conduct, for the purpose of producing visual depictions. The indictment also alleges that Garey knowingly distributed child pornography. Garey appeared for his arraignment on Nov. 15, 2019, in United States District Court.
The investigation preceding the indictment was conducted jointly by the Ft. Wright Police Department and Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI). If anyone has additional information related to the case, they are encouraged to contact the FBI, at 859-341-3901.
Garey’s next appearance before the United States District Court is scheduled for Jan. 10, 2020; his trial is currently scheduled for Jan. 21, 2020. If convicted, Garey faces a maximum of 30 years in prison. However, any sentence following conviction would be imposed by the court after its consideration of the United States Sentencing Guidelines and the federal statute governing the imposition of sentences.
Any indictment is an accusation only. A defendant is presumed innocent and is entitled to a fair trial at which government must prove guilt beyond a reasonable doubt.
