Week ending July 9: 5 notices published by Justice Department

There were five notices published by the Justice Department in week ending July 9, according to the Federal Register.

The most recent notice, Agency Information Collection Activities; Proposed eCollection of eComments Requested; New Collection; Generic Clearance for the Collection of Qualitative Data To Support National Institute of Justice Research and Assessment, was submitted on July 8, 2022.

The Justice Department published zero the week before, marking a Infinity percent increase.

The Department is one of the oldest in the US, focused primarily on law enforcement and the federal prison system. Downsizing the Federal Government, a project aimed at lowering taxes and boosting federal efficiency, detailed wasteful expenses such as $16 muffins at conferences and board meetings.

Notices are required documents detailing rules and regulations being proposed by each federal department. This allows the public to see what issues legislators and federal departments are focusing on.

Any person or organization can comment on the proposed rules. Departments and agencies must then address “significant issues raised in comments and discuss any changes made,” the Federal Register says.
