WASHINGTON, D.C. - Today, the House Committee on Natural Resources held a markup of 15 bills. Five Republicanbills passed the committee with unanimous consent:
H.R. 442, offered by U.S. Rep. Don Young (R-Alaska), conveying approximately 10 acres of land in Sitka, Alaska for the purposes of expanding and improving access to healthcare for Alaska Natives.
H.R. 1975, offered by U.S. Rep. Darrell Issa (R-Calif.), requiring the Secretary of the Interior to take approximately 721 acres of land into trust for the benefit of the Pala Band of Mission Indians in San Diego, Calif.
H.R. 2074, offered by U.S. Rep. Don Young (R-Alaska), establishing a permanent program within the Department of the Interior to develop and promote tribal ownership and management of buffalo and buffalo habitat on Indian lands.
H.R. 2088, offered by U.S. Rep. Chuck Fleischmann (R-Tenn.), placing approximately 96acres of land into trust for benefit of the Eastern Band of Cherokee Indians.
H.R. 2107, offered by U.S. Rep. John Rutherford (R-Fla.),establishing lands around the Port of Jacksonville and historic St. Augustine and along the St. Johns River as the Nation's Oldest Port National Historic Area.
