Today, Deputy Secretary of Commerce Don Graves met with Guyana President Mohamed Irfaan Ali as part of Ali’s official visit to Washington, D.C. During their meeting, Deputy Secretary Graves expressed the Commerce Department’s commitment to the Caribbean region and the Department’s excitement to partner with Guyana as it continues its economic transformation. The Deputy Secretary said he was pleased to have an opportunity to discuss how Guyana can attract more U.S. investment. Graves also invited the Government of Guyana’s support for the Caribbean Trade Mission and Business Conference , taking place October 23-28 in Miami, which will showcase U.S. private sector solutions and technologies to 14 markets in the Caribbean, including Guyana.
