The Bureau of Land Management (BLM) Colorado State Office is seeking public input on a Resource Management Plan Amendment and the associated Environmental Impact Statement to evaluate oil and gas program and other management decisions across existing BLM Colorado resource management plans to promote the conservation of big game corridors and other important big game habitat on BLM-administered land and minerals in Colorado.
A Notice of Intent was published on July 19, 2022, beginning a 45-day public scoping period (https://www.blm.gov/press-release/blm-seeks-public-comments-preparation-plan-conserve-big-game-habitat-and-corridors). The BLM will hold two virtual meetings and three in-person meetings in Colorado to provide information and answer questions regarding this amendment. The public meetings will help attendees learn about the plan amendment and formulate written submissions for the BLM before the comment period ends on September 2, 2022.
The in-person meetings will be held in an open-house format, with BLM specialists attending information stations to interact with meeting attendees to provide answers or additional information. Oral comments will not be accepted at the in-person meetings, but laptops and printed comment cards will be available for submitting comments on-site. The virtual meetings will include a presentation from the BLM, a question-and-answer session, and an oral public comment session.
