Dear Stakeholders,
Plant Protection and Quarantine (PPQ) is excited to announce that on August 1, 2022, the PPQ 525A Soil, 526 Pest, and 588 Controlled Import permit applications are coming to APHIS eFile!
What to expect in the transition from ePermits to APHIS eFile:
- Effective August 1, PPQ will no longer renew or issue new Controlled Import, Pest, or Soil permits through ePermits.
- All active Controlled Import, Pest, or Soil permits issued through ePermits will remain valid until permit expiration.
- No ePermits data will be moved into APHIS eFile. You will need to submit a new application in APHIS eFile when your permit expires.
- Refer to https://www.aphis.usda.gov/aphis/banner/help/efile/efile-training for user guides and “How To” videos that lead you step-by-step through the new applications.
To set up your APHIS eFile account in anticipation of the release, please refer to the APHIS eFile First-Time User Guide.
