Proposed Public Conduct Rulemaking Available For Review

The following news_release was published by the Bureau of Reclamation on Sept. 13, 2005. It is reproduced in full below.

The Bureau of Reclamation is seeking comments on a proposed rulemaking to establish regulations regarding public access to and conduct on all Reclamation projects, waters, and real property. The rulemaking, entitled "Public Conduct on Bureau of Reclamation Facilities, Lands, and Waterbodies; and Procedure to Process and Recover the Value of Rights-of-Use and Administrative Costs Incurred in Permitting Such Use," would replace Reclamation's existing public conduct regulation (43 CFR Part 423), and also would make minor changes to another regulation, 43 CFR Part 429.

The proposed rule is available for review at: http://www.usbr.gov/newsroom/pcr. The documents also may be reviewed in person at Reclamation's Denver Office Library located at the Denver Federal Center, Building 67.

On Sept. 13, 2005, a 60-day public review and comment period was initiated for this proposed rulemaking. Comments must be received by Nov. 14, 2005.

For additional information or to request a copy of the proposed rulemaking, please contact Gary Anderson at 303-445-2891, by facsimile to 720-544-4208, or by email at PublicConductRuleComments@do.usbr.gov
