SACRAMENTO, Calif. - The Bureau of Reclamation proposes to execute 16 Central Valley Project interim renewal water service contracts for two-year terms to begin March 1, 2016. Public comments are due by Monday, Dec. 14, 2015, on the Cross Valley Canal, Delta Division and American River Division contracts. The existing interim renewal water service contracts will expire on Feb. 29, 2016. The proposed contracts will allow Reclamation to continue providing water service to
the water purveyors until long-term renewal contracts can be executed. The contracts include:
Eight Cross Valley Canal Contracts: (1) County of Fresno, (2) Hills Valley Irrigation District, (3) Kern-Tulare Water District, (4) Kern-Tulare Water District (Rag gulch), (5) Lower Tule
River Irrigation District, (6) Pixley Irrigation District, (7) Tri-Valley Water District, and (8) County of Tulare.
Seven Delta Division Contracts: (1) City of Tracy, (2) a multi-party contract with Pajaro Valley Water Management Agency, Santa Clara Valley Water District, Westlands Water District, and Westlands Water District Distribution 1, (3) Widren Water District, (4) Centinella Water District, (5) Broadview Water District, (6) Westlands Water District Distribution District 2 for Mercy Springs, and (7) Westlands Water District’s main contract.
One American River Division Contract: Placer County Water Agency.
Execution of the proposed contracts requires appropriate environmental documentation pursuant to the National Environmental Policy Act. The environmental documents will be released separately for public review and comment.
