MONTROSE, Colo. - The Bureau of Reclamation’s Curecanti Field Office will close the East Portal Road located east of Montrose, Colorado, on Nov. 19, for the winter. If there is a winter storm before Nov. 19, the road will be closed early. The East Portal Road, beginning at the junction with State Highway 347, provides access to the Gunnison River within the Curecanti National Recreation Area, Black Canyon of the Gunnison National Park and Crystal Dam.
