Jason Cameron Selected as the New Deputy Area Manager for the Klamath Basin Area Office in Klamath Falls, Oregon

SACRAMENTO, Calif. - The Bureau of Reclamation announced today that Jason Cameron has been selected as the Klamath Basin Area Office’s Deputy Area Manager. Cameron will begin his new duties Nov. 27, 2016.

“Jason’s long experience and knowledge in Klamath Falls has been extremely valuable to the Klamath Project; he brings a wealth of experience relative to the hydrology and water supply issues in the Basin and has been instrumental in building relationships with our customers and managing partners," stated Deputy Regional Director Federico Barajas. “He works well with everyone around him and I am excited to have his expertise as we continue the important work of providing water in the Basin."

“I’ve been fortunate in my career to have growth opportunities and management support to advance right here in my hometown," Cameron said. “I’m excited for this new opportunity to continue to learn and work with the wonderful people in the Klamath Basin."

Cameron was raised in the Klamath Basin and has lived there for more than 30 years. He is married to Jamie and they have two daughters. He has a Bachelor of Science degree in Applied Environmental Science from Oregon Institute of Technology, and began working as a hydrologic technician on the Klamath Project in 1997. He has risen through the ranks working in many different positions at the Klamath Basin Area Office and has been the Water Operations Division Chief for three years. In his spare time, he enjoys outdoor activities including hiking, fishing, hunting, swimming, walking his dogs, and spending time with his family.
