FRESNO, Calif. - The Bureau of Reclamation has released for public review the Draft Environmental Assessment and Draft Finding of No Significant Impact for the proposed annual transfer approvals associated with Arvin-Edison Water Storage District’s 10-year exchange program.
Under Arvin-Edison’s exchange program, up to 50,000 acre-feet per year of their available Central Valley Project (CVP) water supplies would be transferred to Westside Mutual Water Company for use on member lands as exchange water. In exchange for Arvin-Edison’s CVP water supplies, Westside and its member lands in the exchange program would deliver up to 50,000 acre-feet of their available water supplies to Arvin-Edison on a variable, as-needed basis. The exchange would be based on a 1 for 1 or “bucket for bucket" basis.
The Draft EA/FONSI were prepared in accordance with the National Environmental Policy Act, and are available at href="https://www.usbr.gov/mp/nepa/nepa_project_details.php?Project_ID=29081"
