GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. - The Bureau of Reclamation has awarded a $3.9 million contract for construction of the GK Lateral and Silt Pump Canal Pipelines. The contract was awarded to ESCO Construction Company from Evergreen, Colo.
The GK Lateral is located south of Delta, Colo. And is currently an open channel water conveyance system; the lateral will be piped with 9,000 feet of PVC pipe. The Silt Pump Canal is located near Silt, Colo., and is also an open channel water conveyance system; it will be piped with 1,700 linear feet of HDPE pipe.
The irrigation system improvements will provide improved water delivery efficiencies, water management, and water quality improvements.
Construction of the pipelines will begin in the fall of 2017 and be completed in the spring of 2018.
