Folsom, Calif. - This Spring come out and enjoy the gifts of nature. The American River Water Education Center is a family friendly destination for those who appreciate nature, gardening, and learning of the benefits of water conservation.

The garden at ARWEC boasts a wide variety of plants including California Natives and UC Davis Arboretum All Stars; and, is a Water Efficient Landscape garden and a certified National Wildlife Habitat. Plants are labeled to enhance the visitor’s awareness of plant species, water usage, and drought tolerance. The garden has been developed to educate guests about water efficient landscaping while still maintaining the beauty of an attractive garden.

The American River Water Education Center is located near key recreational areas in Folsom that includes the American River Parkway Bike Trail and Folsom Lake State Recreation Area. The Center is a choice destination for those seeking to enjoy outdoor activities with nearby access to over 30 miles of bike trails and the second most visited state park.

The American River Water Education Center is open Tuesday through Friday, 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Free group tours of the garden are offered during the week.
