Boulder City, Nev. - The Bureau of Reclamation’s Lower Colorado Region today issued a Finding of No Significant Impact (FONSI) and Final Environmental Assessment (EA) for the Hoover Dam Fiber Optic Cable Replacement Project.
The Final EA describes the impact of Reclamation’s proposed replacement of approximately three miles of buried fiber optic cable and cable boxes in Boulder City, NV between the Boulder City Communications Tap Substation and U.S. Highway 93/Nevada Way near Colorado Street. The FONSI documents that implementation of the Proposed Action will not have a significant impact on any of the resources evaluated or contained in the EA.
The Draft EA was issued for public review in December 2017. The Final EA includes all comments received on the Draft EA. The FONSI and EA are available on Reclamation’s website at: http://www.usbr.gov/lc/region/g2000/envdocs.html.
