SACRAMENTO, Calif. - The Bureau of Reclamation has released the draft Initial Study and Environmental Assessment for proposed North Drainage Canal Lift Pump Station Project.

The draft IS/EA examines the potential direct, indirect, and cumulative impacts to the affected environment associated in construction and operation of a new irrigation tailwater recovery lift pump station on the NDC, located near the Sankey Canal, in Sutter County. The lift station will have a capacity of 120 cubic feet per-second; its operation is anticipated to result in an annual water savings of 4,000 acre-feet, which would be diverted from the Sacramento River to fulfill the local water demand absent the Project.
