REDDING, Calif. - The Bureau of Reclamation has issued a Finding of No Significant Impact related to the Lewiston Community Services District Wastewater Collection Treatment and Disposal Project.
The project will receive grant funding from U.S. Department of Agriculture to update and consolidate three local wastewater treatment systems near Lewiston. Reclamation will provide a license for associated upgrades and continued use of existing percolation beds for the treatment system, which are located on Reclamation property adjacent to the Trinity River.
The USDA made the draft Environmental Assessment available for a two-week public review and issued its FONSI on July 2, 2018. Reclamation’s FONSI is supported by the technical content of the EA for the project, prepared on behalf of the USDA. The EA and FONSI were prepared in accordance with the National Environmental Policy Act and are available at https://www.usbr.gov/mp/nepa/nepa_project_details.php?Project_ID=34041
