WASHINGTON - The Bureau of Reclamation today issued a funding opportunity announcement for technical assistance to federally recognized Indian tribes to assist them in developing, managing and protecting their water and related resources. Reclamation anticipates distributing a total of $1 million for up to 15 different projects to assist tribes in the 17 Western states. The maximum award per proposal is $200,000; projects must be completed within two fiscal years.
"Reclamation supports the Department of the Interior’s effort to fulfill the federal government’s unique responsibilities to Indian tribes," said Reclamation Commissioner Brenda Burman. "Through this funding opportunity we hope to strengthen cooperative and collaborative partnerships to meet tribal water needs in the west."
