The meeting will focus primarily on the runoff forecast for the Snake River near Heise, Idaho, water supply outlook, river flow management and snowpack conditions. Currently, the runoff forecast is 74% of average, and the current storage in Jackson Lake is at 83% of capacity. The lake is expected to fill in June, with moderate demand for storage releases over the summer.
Monthly precipitation accumulation in the watershed above Palisades Dam since Oct. 1, 2020, was below average each month, except for November (101% of average) and February (143% of average). Monthly precipitation totals for March and April were well below average precipitation totals at 40% and 48% of average, respectively. With the current snowpack, the flooding potential along the Snake River in Teton County due to potential Jackson Lake Dam releases and possible inflows from downstream tributaries is low. The tributaries may still experience high flows, so caution is advised in these areas during the snowmelt season.

Jackson Lake Dam is located on the Snake River in Grand Teton National Park near Moran, Wyo. The dam is part of the Minidoka Project and was originally constructed in 1911. Portions of the dam were later replaced in 1989 under the authority of Reclamation’s Safety of Dams Act.
