BISMARCK, N.D.─ The Bureau of Reclamation, along with Garrison Diversion Conservancy District, has completed construction of the camp host site at East Park Lake and will recruit a host for the location. East Park Lake is part of the Chain of Lakes and is located 17-miles north of Wilton, North Dakota, on North Dakota Highway 41.
The camp host will provide information to recreators visiting the Chain of Lakes and will assist Reclamation with public health, safety, and security. Reclamation will recruit volunteers this coming winter for the 2022 summer recreation season.
A burn ban is currently in place for the Chain of Lakes recreation areas for safety reasons. Please continue to monitor the burn bans that may be in place when visiting the Chain of Lakes. This information is available at Burn Ban Restrictions & Fire Danger Maps | ND Response.
Additionally, use of fireworks at Chain of Lakes is strictly prohibited. The McLean County Sheriff and a Federal law enforcement officer are patrolling the area for the 2021 recreation season and will enforce this regulation. In preparation for your trip to Chain of Lakes, please review the rules and regulations at United States Department of the Interior (usbr.gov).
There are 289 Reclamation project areas that have developed recreation facilities and opportunities available for public use. Over 100 are managed by a Federal recreation partner.
