The following news_release was published by the Bureau of Reclamation on Oct. 27, 2021. It is reproduced in full below.

FALLON, Nev. - The Bureau of Reclamation is in the process of transferring the Old Lahontan Power Plant title from federal ownership to the Truckee-Carson Irrigation District following a 30-day public review period of the negotiated draft agreement beginning today. TCID is the non-federal operating entity for the Newlands Project, including the Truckee Division near Fernley and the Carson Division near Fallon, both in western Nevada.

The power plant, a stone-and-concrete structure containing three generators, was completed in 1911 to facilitate the construction of Lahontan Dam. Located on federal lands acquired for the Newlands Project, the plant is 650 feet downstream of Lahontan Dam, on the left bank of the Carson River.

The agreement is available at https://www.usbr.gov/mp/lbao/index.html. Comments must be received by close of business on Nov. 26, 2021, and sent to Deborah Page, Lahontan Basin Area Office, Bureau of Reclamation, 705 N. Plaza St., Room 320, Carson City, NV 89701 or emailed to dpage@usbr.gov.
