Reminder! Members may carry up to 75 days of leave for FY22

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic during the past couple of years, members have accrued leave days that exceed the standard 60 days of carryover into the following fiscal year. As we start to close out fiscal year 2022 and head into fiscal year 2023, this is a reminder that you have the ability to carry over extra leave this year. Next year the service goes back to the standard 60 days carryover policy. 

Here is the accrual timeline for more context:

• Sept. 30, 2022    75 days
• Sept. 30, 2023    60 days

“The premise behind this is to encourage members to take leave throughout the year and also to encourage their commands to support those efforts,” said Lt. Cmdr. Robert Espenship, division chief for military personnel policy sustainment (CG-1334).
