National Park and Indiana Dunes Tourism Offer Volunteering Opportunities

Indiana Dunes National Park and Indiana Dunes Tourism have partnered to offer Drop-In Volunteering, a no-hassle volunteer option for those looking to help out at the Indiana Dunes. Opportunities will be available nearly every day of the week and will include stewardship, restoration, park clean-up, and more.

On Saturday, August 20, and on the third Saturday of every month, from 9:00 am to 12:00 pm, meet at the Park Connection Office, at the Chellberg Farm parking lot, for a morning of stewardship in your national park.

In addition, you can stop by the Indiana Dunes Visitor Center at 1215 North State Road 49, Porter, Indiana daily between 10:00 am - 4:00 pm for the “Trash Trekkers” program. Grab a trash bag at the center and help keep our beaches and trails clean.  No formal commitment is necessary; simply drop-in during program hours to get started. Remember to dress appropriately for the work you will be doing; wear comfortable outdoor clothing and bring sunscreen, bug spray and water. The national park will provide gear and training to anyone interested in lending a hand to preserve the Indiana Dunes.
