May 31, 2017 and June 12, 2017 Bank Robberies

May 31, 2017 and June 12, 2017 Bank Robberies

The Louisville and Westminster Police Departments and the FBI Rocky Mountain Safe Streets Task Force are investigating two bank robberies believed to have been committed by the same individual.

Vectra Bank

3300 West 72nd Avenue

Westminster, Colorado

May 30, 2017, 10:43 a.m.

Bank of the West

865 (East) South Boulder Road

Louisville, Colorado

June 12, 2017, 10:00 a.m.

The suspect is described as a white male, approximately 40 years of age, with an average build. The suspect has been seen wearing a dark colored mask, dark hoodie or dark colored jacket, and dark pants. He was seen carrying a black backpack and wearing athletic shoes and gloves.

In at least one robbery, the suspect demanded money from bank employees, received money, and fled the bank on a bicycle. There was no weapon seen and no one was injured.

Bank robbery is punishable by a 20-year prison sentence for each offense and increases if a dangerous weapon is used in the commission of the crime.

The FBI continues to provide financial institutions with the best practices for security to make them less vulnerable to robberies.
