Education and Labor Committee Republican Leader Virginia Foxx (R-NC) issued the following statement after the House passed H.R. 5376, the Democrats’ Inflation Expansion Act:
“Democrats have used every opportunity to tilt the playing field in favor of union bosses. Today’s bill is no exception—they’ve included more handouts to Big Labor, punishing job creators and workers who have decided not to unionize. From Davis-Bacon prevailing wage provisions to incentives for registered apprenticeships, the labor components in this bill resemble a legislative charcuterie board that only a union boss would salivate over.
“The desperation amongst Democrats in Washington is palpable—they’re desperate to buy votes, insulate themselves, and appease their union allies before they face the judgment of American voters. If they believe Americans will welcome this scheme with open arms, they’re dead wrong.”
