United States Attorney Joe Kelly announced that Oliver Whitewing-Saul, age 23, was sentenced in federal court on Friday, Jan. 18, 2019, in Omaha, Nebraska, for one count of Sexual Abuse of a Minor. The Honorable Robert F. Rossiter, Jr. sentenced Whitewing-Saul to 108 months of imprisonment. There is no parole in the federal system. After completing his term of imprisonment, Whitewing-Saul will begin a five-year term of supervised release.
On Jan. 29, 2018, on the Winnebago Indian Reservation, Whitewing-Saul engaged in sexual intercourse with a 15-year-old female victim. Whitewing-Saul was 22 at the time. The investigation revealed that Whitewing-Saul’s DNA and the victim’s DNA were located on clothes that Whitewing-Saul was wearing at the time of the sexual encounter.
The case was investigated by the Federal Bureau of Investigation and the United States Department of the Interior, Bureau of Indian Affairs.
