2022 Moby-Dick Reading Marathon

San Francisco Maritime National Historical Park, San Francisco Maritime National Park Association and the Department of Culture and Communication at California State University Maritime Academy proudly present the 2022 San Francisco Moby-Dick Marathon happening noon to noon, October 22nd to 23rd at the Maritime Museum at 900 Beach Street, San Francisco.  

The 24-hour marathon reading of the classic American novel Moby-Dick by Herman Melville will feature performances by artists and musicians as well as other surprises and festivities. The event is being directed by Sean Owens, a San Francisco performer, writer, and director who will bring their unique eye to the spectacle.

In leading up to the marathon, there will be a full slate of lectures on topics including capitalism, ecology, Afrofuturism, and bodily autonomy as it relates to the novel by professors, filmmakers, and artists. Check out https://www.facebook.com/SFMobyDick2022 for more details.
