Who: Bureau of Land Management and Partners including: National Park Service; U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service; Northern Virginia Regional Parks Authority; Virginia State Parks; and George Mason's Gunston Hall, a National Historic Landmark. Representatives of some of these partner organizations will speak to the occasion and cut a ribbon officially opening the kiosk for visitation.What: Ribbon cutting and dedication of a wayside exhibit where visitors to the Mason Neck may learn about the many historic, environmental and recreational opportunities available on the peninsula. This event is the culmination of an interagency partnership between state and federal agencies that began over seven years ago, with the shared goal of providing one place where the many natural and cultural attractions of the Mason Neck Peninsula may be interpreted for local residents and our visitors from outside the region.When: Nov. 1, 2014. Remarks begin at 10:00 a.m. Exhibits, entertainment, and light refreshments provided by community service and partner organizations will be available until Noon.Where: 10100 Gunston Rd., Lorton, VA, (adjacent to the Gunston Elementary School).
