Las Vegas - The Bureau of Land Management (BLM) Red Rock/Sloan Field Office, in partnership with the Great Basin Institute, is conducting an assessment of outdoor recreation activities and experiences in Sloan Canyon National Conservation Area. The emphasis of the assessment is to determine visitors' expectations of their recreation experiences at Sloan Canyon compared to their last visit.
The workshop will be held on January 7 from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at the City of Henderson Multi-generational Center at 250 S. Green Valley Parkway.
This is an interactive planning event. Participation in this workshop will provide the BLM with insight into public benefit and experiences and aid in understanding regional recreation needs and expectations to guide management decisions. The workshop will begin with a brief introduction and explanation of maps and resource characteristics and then information regarding visitor experiences and benefits related to participants’ last visit to Sloan Canyon will be collected. This information will be used to address marketing, monitoring, administration and general management.
