Battle Mountain, Nev. - The Bureau of Land Management Tonopah Field Office has prepared an Environmental Assessment (EA) to analyze the effects of completing improvements to the Silver Peak Road and is inviting public review and comment.
The project involves paving, striping and signing the last unpaved segment of the Esmeralda County road from U.S. Highway 95 to Silver Peak. Flash flooding often affects this 3.7 mile segment so the Proposed Action also calls for widening the right-of-way on the 2.76 miles that cross public land to allow for larger culverts and other improvements addressing drainage and public safety.
The EA can be viewed on the BLM NEPA Register online at http://bit.ly/2xPoju1. Written comments will be accepted until October 5, 2017 and can be submitted to Tonopah Field Office at P.O Box 911, Tonopah, NV 89049; or emailed to jfatooh@blm.gov with “Silver Peak Road comment" in the subject line.
