RENO, Nev. - The Bureau of Land Management is hosting seven National Public Lands Days volunteer events around Nevada this Saturday, Sept. 30.
“We have a robust volunteer program in Nevada," said Acting BLM Nevada State Director Marci Todd. “We are asking for folks who are not yet signed up to come out and join us."
Volunteers will receive t-shirts and a free entrance pass from the National Environment Education Foundation to be used at any participating Federal agency fee area in the United States.
The BLM is seeking volunteers for the following volunteer projects:
* Swales Cleanup in Fernley
* Lund Dump Site Cleanup in Ely
* Big Dunes in Southern Nevada
* Gold Butte National Monument in Southern Nevada
* Logandale Trails in Southern Nevada
* Sloan Canyon Trail Signage Installation in Southern Nevada
* Soldier Meadows Desert Days in Winnemucca
National Public Lands Day is the nation’s largest, single-day volunteer effort for public lands and brings together hundreds of volunteers to help restore America’s public lands. “I’m proud of the work and time our volunteers give to help care for public lands," Todd added. “We hope to see another good turnout on Saturday for National Public Lands Day."
As stewards, the BLM manages public lands for the benefit of current and future generations, supporting conservation as we pursue our multiple-use mission.
