(BILLINGS, Mont.) - Efforts to keep the Greater Sage-grouse off the Endangered Species List are underway. Now the Bureau of Land Management (BLM) is asking the public’s opinion whether the existing sagebrush conservation plans are sufficient or need to be improved.
The Montana/Dakotas State Office of the BLM is hosting a meeting this Wednesday, November 8, to give the public a chance to learn about current conservation efforts in order to help them make informed recommendations. It is one of several similar meetings held this month across the West.
The meeting at the BLM offices at 5001 Southgate Drive in Billings begins at 4 p.m. with a brief presentation, followed by a short question and answer session, and an opportunity to talk with subject matter experts. The schedule will be repeated starting at 6 p.m., with the meeting concluding at 8 p.m.
Written comments will be accepted at the meeting or by email through Nov. 27, 2017 to blm_sagegrouseplanning@blm.gov.
