BLM plans prescribed burn near Congress

PHOENIX- The Bureau of Land Management (BLM) Phoenix District is planning to conduct a slash-pile burn located approximately 2 miles northeast of Congress, Ariz., near the Junction of Highway 89 and County Road 62. BLM plans to burn the slash-pile for one day between February 15 through February 16.

The BLM will choose the best day to ignite the fire when the weather conditions are most favorable. The surrounding community and those traveling through the area can expect to see some smoke resulting from the burning pile. BLM firefighters will remain on the scene to control the burn and monitor public and resource safety.
