LOVELOCK, Nev. - Mop-up efforts are currently underway on the Rocky Fire which is at 1,613 acres and 50 percent containment. There are structures in the area and the fire is not contained but there are no immediate threats.
Due to the size of the fire and structures in the area, fire fighters are being extra vigilant dealing with fuels remaining in the area including grass and five to seven foot tall sage brush. No change in fire resources from the Winnemucca BLM, Lovelock Volunteer Fire Department, and Rye Patch VFD.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation. The fire started just after 7:15 p.m. on June 23 approximately 20 miles north of Lovelock.
