BUFFALO, Wyo. - The public is invited to join the BLM for the 25th annual National Public Lands Day at Weston Hills Special Recreation Management Area on Saturday, Sept. 22 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Participants can assist the BLM in managing public lands for the benefit of current and future generations by cleaning up trash, repairing fence, pulling weeds, and conducting general site maintenance. There will be opportunities to participate for all ages and abilities.
Volunteers may meet at the BLM Buffalo Field Office at 1425 Fort St. in Buffalo at 7 a.m. Participants will carpool and follow BLM personnel to the Weston Hills, which will take roughly 90 minutes. Alternatively, volunteers may meet at Weston Hills, located about 35 miles north of Gillette, on Highway 59.
Volunteers are recommended to bring hiking boots, work gloves, food, water, sunscreen, hat, sunglasses and bug repellant/spray. Tools will be provided. Your participation is appreciated!
