(FERGUS COUNTY, Mont.) - Snow dusted the ground in Fergus County before September was torn off the 2018 calendar.
To ensure the new infrastructure at the Bureau of Land Management James Kipp Recreation Area is not damaged by winter’s surprise attack, the water system will be turned off Oct. 10.
“We want to make sure the cold weather doesn’t freeze and burst any components of the new water system at Kipp," explained Upper Missouri River Monument Manager Josh Chase. “The American public can still use the campground, boat launch and vault toilets during hunting season."
Anyone planning to camp at Kipp should plan to bring enough water to meet their needs.
James Kipp Recreation Area is located where U.S. Highway 191 crosses the Missouri River on the Fred Robinson Bridge, approximately 20 miles north of Bohemian Corner in north central Montana
