RENO, Nev. - Wildland firefighting positions with Bureau of Land Management Nevada are open now through February, with some positions closing as early as December 10. Below are the current vacancy announcement numbers and deadlines to apply. Base hourly pay ranges from $12.95 to $20.61 per hour. Previous firefighting experience is not a requirement for entry level positions. Additional positions will be advertised in the coming weeks. BLM Nevada has one of the largest firefighting programs in the continental U.S. Applicants must be U.S. citizens, have a valid passport or birth certificate and a valid driver’s license, be at least 18 years old and pass a work capacity test (pack test) on the first day. Those who are hired will be seasonally employed from April through October.
