2020 Wildland fire dispatcher positions now open

RENO, Nev. - Wildland fire dispatching positions with Bureau of Land Management Nevada are open now through February, with early cut-off for applications on December 10th. Below are the current vacancy announcement numbers and deadlines to apply. Base hourly pay ranges from $16.20 to $22.45 per hour. Additional positions will be advertised in the coming weeks. BLM Nevada has one of the largest firefighting programs in the continental U.S. Applicants must be U.S. citizens, have a valid passport or birth certificate and a valid driver’s license, and be at least 18 years old. The work is primarily performed in an office setting, but demands long hours of sitting and irregular shifts. Long periods of intense concentration and working at peak proficiency/intensity levels. Those who are hired will be seasonally employed from approximately April through October, depending on the duty station.
