California Desert District Advisory Council to hold virtual meeting

Palm Springs, Calif. - The Bureau of Land Management California Desert District Desert Advisory Council (DAC) will hold a virtual Zoom meeting on Saturday, Aug. 7, from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., demonstrating partnerships and public input are necessary for managing sustainable, working public lands.

The meeting is open to the public and participants must register beforehand by clicking on this link. After registering, participants will receive a confirmation email with instructions, a link to join the meeting and phone numbers for those unable to join online. Zoom virtual meeting tutorials can be viewed online.

The public will be given an opportunity to address DAC members regarding agenda and non-agenda items during the public comment period scheduled at 3:15 p.m. Time for individual public comments may be limited due to the number of individuals wishing to speak. Written statements to address the DAC may also be mailed prior to the meeting to the BLM California Desert District Office, 1201 Bird Center Drive, Palm Springs, CA 92262, Attention: Michelle Van Der Linden/DAC meeting comments.

The August meeting is the first of two planned for 2021. Following the virtual meeting on Aug. 7, an in-person, two-day meeting/field tour is planned for Oct. 1 and 2. In the event CDC Covid guidelines have not been reduced by the October meeting, the field tour will be cancelled and the meeting will be held virtually.
