Divide Bridge Campground closed due to nearby fires

(BUTTE, Mont.) - Divide Bridge Campground is temporarily closed while crews fighting nearby wildfires use the Bureau of Land Management’s recreation site as a base camp.

The campground, 30 miles south of Butte, will be closed to the public as of noon July 29 to allow crews fighting the Alder Creek, Trail Creek, and Christensen fires to conduct operations and planning at a safer distance from the heavy smoke.

As of July 29, the Trail Creek Fire was at 34,997 acres; Alder Creek Fire was 8,849 acres; and the Christensen Fire was at 4,892 acres.
