TAOS, N.M. - The Bureau of Land Management (BLM) Taos Field Office announces that beginning today, it will offer an authorized fuelwood harvest at the Gorham Scout Camp near Cundiyo, N.M., to minimize further residual, dead and down heavy fuels from previous thinning activities.
Available fuelwood is a mix of ponderosa pine, piñon pine, and Rocky Mountain juniper (cedar). Authorization for removal will be on a first-come, first-served basis on Sept. 10-12 and Sept. 17-19, 2021. The BLM allows a maximum of eight cords of harvested fuelwood per year, per customer.
Members of the public who are interested in harvesting the dead and down fuelwood from this site should contact the BLM Taos Field Office Forester Elyssa Durán by phone at 575-751-4752 or by email at ekduran@blm.gov. Interested parties can also stop by the BLM Taos Field Office at 226 Cruz Alta Road, Taos, NM 87571.
