SALMON, Idaho-The BLM Salmon Field Office is seeking public input for an application for Recreational Vehicle Fund grants from the Idaho Department of Parks and Recreation. The anticipated funds will be used to upgrade infrastructure at the Shoup Bridge and McFarland Campgrounds. Planned upgrades at both campgrounds include new picnic tables, fire pits, benches, bear-proof trash cans, and signs. Additional gravel parking pads and gravel road resurfacing are also planned for McFarland Campground.
Public input is important to the grant application process, as well as finding priorities for upgrades. To accommodate increased public use, some of the amenities at both sites will be replaced, and new tables, benches, trash cans and firepits will be installed. In addition, McFarland will gain three new gravel pads.
Public input, comments, and letters of support on the proposed upgrades can be mailed to the BLM, Attn: Travis Seaberg, 1206 S. Challis Street, Salmon, ID 83467, or emailed to gseaberg@blm.gov. For more information, please contact Travis Seaberg at gseaberg@blm.gov, (208)756-5412.
