There were three press releases published by the U.S. Department of Energy, Office of Cybersecurity, Energy Security, and Emergency Response in August.

The most recent press release, "CESER Announces Launch of Rural and Municipal Utility Advanced Cybersecurity Grant and Technical Assistance Program, Subsequent Listening Sessions," was submitted on Aug. 8.

The U.S. Department of Energy, Office of Cybersecurity, Energy Security, and Emergency Response published two press releases the month before, marking a 50 percent increase for the current month.

CESER’s focus is preparedness and response activities to natural and man-made threats.

An inspector general report found the Office lacked internal control policies and procedures about budgets. The Office was determined to have inappropriately spent nearly $12 million due to mismanagement.
