Presented by U.S. Department of Transportation OSDBU, U.S. Small Business Administration, and the Minority Business Development Agency.
About this Event
Join the U.S. Department of Transportation and the Office of Small and Disadvantaged Business Utilization (OSDBU) in partnership with the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) and the Minority Business Development Agency (MBDA) for an in-person event at USDOT HQ.
The "Business Forum 2022” event is a day-long event focusing on small business growth opportunities, providing access to capital and relationship building. The first half of the day will include remarks from the U.S. Secretary of Transportation, Pete Buttigieg, and other cabinet members; plenary sessions providing insight on how to do business with USDOT, best practices, and how to increase small disadvantaged business utilization, among other topics.
The second half of the event is our Connections MarketPlace (CMP) portion including one-on-one business matchmaking, an interactive Stakeholder EXPO, Access to Capital sessions and information packed break-out sessions, brought to the audience in partnership with the SBA.
The CMP Business Matchmaking will help bridge the gap between small businesses and various transportation modal representatives from the federal, state, and municipal levels. During these 10 minute one-on-one meetings small businesses will be matched with large primes as well as federal, state, and local municipalities and agencies. The meeting topics will consist of contracting opportunities, providing technical assistance and other resources and helpful information to small businesses. Attendees will also be able to speak with financial institutions, Small Business Investment Companies (SBICs), and Community Development Financial Institutions (CDFIs).
