U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations Linda Thomas-Greenfield met today with Zambian President Hakainde Hichilema. Ambassador Thomas-Greenfield commended Zambia’s strong commitment to democratic principles and discussed deepening multilateral cooperation with Zambia on shared priorities at the United Nations, including Security Council reform and the training and deployment of Zambian peacekeepers. The Ambassador expressed support for continued U.S. engagement on a range of economic and development issues, including continued U.S. businesses investments in Zambia and how to address the impact that the war in Ukraine is having on rising fertilizer prices.
