Washington D.C -Energy and Commerce Republican Leader Cathy McMorris Rodgers (R-WA) and Health Subcommittee Republican Leader Brett Guthrie (R-KY) released the following statement after the House of Representatives passed H.R. 8163, the Improving Trauma Systems and Emergency Care Act, and S. 958, the Maximizing Outcomes through Better Investments in Lifesaving Equipment for (MOBILE) Health Care Act.
“The People’s House took action this week to improve health care access, especially for people living in rural communities and vulnerable populations. The Improving Trauma Systems and Emergency Care Act will help ensure accident victims and people suffering life-threatening injuries can more quickly access emergency medical services. The MOBILE Health Care Act will bring health care directly to patients with limited transportation options by helping Federally-Qualified Health Centers (FQHC’s) establish more mobile health units. As a result of this legislation, FQHC’s will be able to better reach people who are in the most need, including pregnant women, children, veterans, and seniors.
“We thank all our colleagues on the Energy and Commerce Committee for their bipartisan work and look forward to seeing these health care solutions becoming law."
