Park Closes Gold Branch Unit 6/30/04

The following press release was published by the U.S. Department of the Interior, National Park Service on June 30, 2004. It is reproduced in full below.

Heavy rains have closed one of the hiking areas at the Chattahoochee River National Recreation Area. The entrance road at Gold Branch, located off of Lower Roswell Road, is heavily eroded due to excessive rainfall over the past two weeks.

Park staff are standing by to re-grade the entrance road once the rains subside. Until then, the Gold Branch area will remain closed.
