Decrease in Visitation for June 2006

Petrified Forest, AZ - Park Superintendent Lee Baiza announced the visitation for June was down by 4.4%% from last year with 87,953 visits compared to last year’s 92,044. The year-to-date total is 281,042 which is down by 0.25% from last year.

August is Route 66 Month. The alignment of this historic highway can still be seen by visitors at a new pull-out at the north end of the park. In celebration of Route 66 this August the park will have special programs and displays.
