Revolutionary War Fall Encampment

As the campaign season of 1778 draws to a close, find out what the Continental Army had to do to garrison troops for the winter. Visit with Fort Stanwix National Monument living history staff and volunteers to discuss the campaign and how they winterize the fortress for the upcoming season.

The fort will be open on this special occasion from 10:00 am till 4:00 pm on Saturday, Nov. 11, and Sunday, November 12. There will be special programming hour from 11:00 am till 3:00 pm including historic weapons demonstrations, an 18th century court martial program, and military music. Schedules can be found within the Marinus Willett Collections Management and Education Center. Parking is located in the lot across from Rome Savings Bank on W Dominick Street.

Fort Stanwix National Monument is open seven days a week 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., except Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Year’s Days. Admission to the Marinus Willett Center and Fort are free. Visitors are encouraged to start their experience at the Marinus Willett Center at the intersection of West Dominick and James Streets. A park ranger can assist you in planning your visit.
