Wanted: Volunteers to Hike Trails. Become a Trailblazer Today!

The following press release was published by the U.S. Department of the Interior, National Park Service on Nov. 29, 2006. It is reproduced in full below.

The success of the Chattahoochee River National Recreation Area can be largely credited to the many volunteers who dedicate their time at the park. The Trail Blazers program allows volunteers to help the park further by assisting visitors and identifying resource concerns while hiking on the trails.

The free four hour training for new Trail Blazer recruits will take place on Tuesday, December 5th and Thursday, December 7th from 6 pm to 8 pm. The classes will be held at the park’s visitor center, in the historic Hewlett Lodge at 1978 Island Ford Parkway, Atlanta, GA30350.

If you are unable to attend the December classes, additional courses will be offered on Tuesday, January 9th and Thursday, January 11th from 6 pm to 8 pm and a one day course offered on Saturday, January 13th from 8 am until noon.

For more information and registration, call 678-538-1200.
