Abraham Lincoln Birthplace Announces Spring Wildflower/Bird Hike at Boyhood Home: Knob Creek Farm
On April 12, 2008, from 9 am until 1:30 pm the staff of Abraham Lincoln Birthplace National Historic Site will offer a spring wildflower/bird hike at the Boyhood Home: Knob Creek Farm. The Boyhood Home site is located 8 miles north of Hodgenville along Hwy 31E between Hodgenville and New Haven, Kentucky.
This hike, through the fields where the Lincoln family once planted corn and pumpkins, is open to the public, free of charge. Individuals are encouraged tobring binoculars, a lunch, water, insect repellent, and to wear study shoes.
The hike will begin in front of the Lincoln tavern facing 31E and will last until 1:30 pm. Louisville’s Beckham Bird Club will join us for this hike. Come along and enjoy the sun, wildflowers, and the birds.
